Summary

Under general supervision, the Healthcare Compliance Manager oversees the healthcare compliance program functions for ANTHC, ensuring adherence to hospital conditions of participation, HIPAA, and other applicable standards and laws. This role involves conducting investigations, creating training programs, performing Privacy Officer tasks, and overseeing designated Ethics and Compliance Service staff.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with hospital conditions of participation, HIPAA, and other relevant healthcare regulations and standards.

Monitors and tracks changes in healthcare regulations and standards, ensuring the organization remains compliant.

Assists the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer with developing and implementing an annual review of an update to the Ethics and Compliance Plan that is consistent with applicable federal/state laws, Office of Inspector General Compliance Guidance, U.S.

Sentencing Commission, and IHS standards.

Serves as Deputy Privacy Officer and manages related processes, including amendment denial letters, research privacy consults, and breach risk assessments.

Receives compliance and privacy allegations, researches compliance issues, and conducts investigations in accordance with standard practices.

Prepares written findings and recommendations for each investigation and provides appropriate recommendations.

Designs and implements training programs to educate staff on compliance requirements and best practices.

Assesses the need for additional training and education.

Prepares detailed compliance reports for the executive team, Board of Directors, and Joint Operating Board, highlighting key compliance issues and actions taken.

Works closely with various departments to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance across the organization.

Oversees policy and procedure staff, coordinating the review and update of hospital policies and procedures.

Mentors and trains staff as needed and supports professional development.

Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

Bachelor's degree in business, health care administration, public health, administration, or a related field. Progressively responsible professional work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.

Minimum Experience Qualification

Non-supervisory - Six (6) years of health organization experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.

TO INCLUDE Supervisory - Two (2) years involving employee supervision.

MINIMUM CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION

Must have or obtain Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC) certification within one (1) year of hire.

Preferred Education Qualification

Master’s degree in ethics, public administration, health care administration, or a related field.
