Basic Purpose
Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities for providing administrative support to program areas and support functions or serve as an assistant to or provide administrative support to an administrator or an official. This may include responsibility for the administration of an agency program providing services to agency customers, maintaining various records, preparing correspondence, presentations, reports, or other materials; or performing or overseeing administrative operational functions such as bookkeeping or accounting, human resources, purchasing, contracts, or similar tasks.
Typical Functions
Requires high aptitude for details, spelling and the ability to learn the State of Oklahoma policies regarding records retention. Must have excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills. Must adhere to the agency’s confidentiality policies with tact and discretion when dealing with the public. Must have experience and skill working with Windows operating system in a multiuser environment.
Education And Experience
Preference will be given to undergrad, graduate forensic and/or medical students as well as persons with previous medical setting experience. Employees must possess and maintain mental stamina to perform the work and willingness to accept the mental discomforts inherent in the work, pass a rigid character and background investigation, be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and social security card. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and fileservers and/or network helpful.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Competencies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of spelling, punctuation, and business English; business mathematics; of modern office methods and procedures; the maintenance of complex records; and the major policies and procedures governing assigned programs.
Ability is required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; perform confidential work and maintain confidentiality; interpret and complete routine matters according to agency policies and procedures; and follow oral and written instructions.

Typical Functions
- The functions within this job will include, but not limited to the following:
- Assists Records Manager with organizing, updating and maintaining the case records of the Eastern Office. Duties include maintaining detailed documentation as well as compiling and collating all components of the individual case file.
- Scans completed case files to agency network.
- Assists Record Manager in record requests from various state agencies, law enforcement agencies and other interested parties.
- Quality Control of medical examiner cases
- Serves as backup to the Receptionist as required
