Description

The Director of Learning and Development serves as a strategic leader responsible for designing, facilitating, and implementing learning content, policies, and development strategies across all levels. This position will lead the design, development, implementation, and delivery of employee training and development programs. This role evaluates organizational learning needs to guide training strategies and identifies effective solutions to support employee growth. Serving as both a strategic advisor and liaison to leadership, the Director of Learning & Development helps drive key learning initiatives across the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver learning programs that align with business goals and support employee growth across all levels of the organization.
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and recommend effective learning solutions.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and subject matter experts to ensure training content is relevant, timely, and impactful.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve the effectiveness of training programs using feedback, metrics, and performance data.
  • Collaborate with Safety and Human Resources on the administration and ongoing management of the Learning Management System (LMS), becoming the internal expert on its functionality and capabilities.
  • Support the implementation of a new learning platform, Biz Library, by assisting with system setup, user training, content migration, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain up-to-date learning materials, ensuring consistency and alignment with company policies, culture, and strategic objectives.
  • Stay informed on trends and best practices in adult learning, instructional design, and technology-enhanced learning.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to train diverse teams across warehouses, delivery, merchandising, sales and office administration functions.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation abilities.
  • Proficient in leveraging a variety of training methods, including e-learning, in-person and blended learning approaches.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical thinker with a continuous improvement mindset; uses feedback and metrics to refine programs and enhance learning outcomes.
  • Highly adaptable and resourceful, and commitment to staying current on industry trends and best practices.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in the beverage distribution industry
  • 10+ years in sales, warehouse operations and merchandising, preferably within the beverage distribution or related industry.
  • 5+ years of training experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to regularly lift weights ranging from 25 to 75 pounds, as well as climb, reach, and perform other physical movements necessary to carry out the essential duties of the position.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:?Must hold a current, valid driver’s license that meets the insurance carrier’s requirements for an eligible, insured driver.
