Based in Westminster Colorado, this incredible team is looking for a skilled Systems Engineer to support our growing number of exciting projects! In this role, you will work on a variety of technical projects ranging from research applications, technical product development, and spaceflight programs. Many of these programs incorporate the full systems engineering lifecycle from concept development and requirements definition through design, integration, test, and on-orbit operations. In addition to these opportunities, candidates may also have the opportunity to get involved in mission formulation and proposal development efforts. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with a broad technical background, strong communication skills, and the ability to work across disciplines.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and/or support systems engineering efforts across one or more projects which include research applications, technical product development, and flight programs.
  • Define and manage system objectives and requirements from the Mission level down through subsystem level including the definition of requirement verification
  • Develop and maintain both System Architectures and Interfaces through either traditional documented approaches or Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Support the development of Concepts of Operations (ConOps) throughout all mission phases: launch through disposal
  • Support, develop, and manage trade studies related to mission/spacecraft design decisions.
  • Support the evaluation and/or design of space vehicles (Comm, Propulsion, GNC, ADCS, EPS, etc.) to meet mission concepts and requirements.
  • Generate material for and participate in design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.)
  • Coordinate with customers and sub-contractors on technical material, including the ability to discuss technical concepts when asked.
  • Development of test plans & procedures and oversee the execution of these plans including documentation of test results
  • Perform analysis to verify technical results.
  • Facilitate regulatory processes of flight programs including Orbital Debris Mitigation, Planetary Protection, Frequency Licensing, etc.
  • Support the documentation and management of risks and associated mitigations.
  • Support space vehicle operations which may include coordination among operations team, anomaly resolution, and operational planning.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • B.S./M.S./PhD in Aerospace Engineering with a technical emphasis in Systems Engineering
  • 2-5 years of experience in mission implementation of flight and ground systems with an emphasis on cislunar & deep space systems preferred
  • A general understanding of multiple space vehicle subsystems (Comm, Propulsion, GNC, ADCS, EPS, etc.) and how design decisions will impact performance within these subsystems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards within systems engineering (NASA, DoD, INCOSE, etc.).
  • The ability to generate and evaluate standard systems engineering lists like a Master Equipment List (MEL), Power Equipment List (PEL), etc.
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and related tools such as Cameo.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as Jama.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft communication system analysis and design, including the generation of link budgets.
  • Experience/familiarity with cislunar/deep space missions.
  • High level familiarity/understanding of astrodynamics or satellite navigation concepts.
  • Experience in a programming language (python preferred) for analysis and tool development purposes.
  • Willingness to learn new concepts, skills, and areas within systems engineering.
  • Experience with space mission assembly, integration & testing (AI&T)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Salary Range - $84,000-$110,000 based on role, employee experience, and location

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability to work in the Westminster, CO office 3-5 days/week. Unless work requires otherwise.
  • Applicants must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have a Security Clearance: Active [e.g., Secret/Top Secret/TS/SCI] security clearance required
