As a minimum, an unencumbered State of Iowa Registered Nurse (R.N.) license, C.P.R. Certification and two (2) years of R.N. experience. Prior experience managing a nursing department and five (5) years of R.N. experience is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!

- Assists the Director of Nursing (DON) with planning, directing, and supervising the training and activities of the nursing staff.
- Assists the DON formulate the goals and objectives of the in-service and educational programs of the facility.
- Plan, develop, direct, evaluate, update, and coordinate educational and on the job training programs.
- Develop and participate in planning orientation programs for newly hired nursing staff.
- Conduct special in-services for the nursing staff to ensure they remain current on new federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Ensures the Nursing Department is in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Performs audits of employee records and ensures all nursing department staff are up to date on all necessary education and competencies.
- Participates in Federal, State and Local agency annual surveys.
- Reviews any deficiencies noted by government agencies during inspections and assists with the implementation of changes needed to correct any deficiencies found.
- Assure that established infection control and prevention practices and standard precautions are maintained at all times.
- Participate in compliance trainings as scheduled and adhere to compliance plan.
