The Opportunity

The experienced Packaging Supervisor in our food powder manufacturing facility is responsible for leading, hiring, training, and developing packaging employees, to ensure employee safety and optimal performance, while creating a culture of ownership. We are helping consumers across the globe to achieve their performance and healthy lifestyle goals. This role oversees multiple packaging lines and teams while collaborating cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Front End, and Planning to deliver attainment in line with production schedules, optimize line performance, and maintaining audit readiness. This role requires strong technical knowledge of packaging systems, materials, and automation, as well as the ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives. This position plays a critical role in delivering high-quality packaged powders that meet customer and regulatory expectations.

  • Lead, hire, train, and develop Packaging employees to ensure employee safety and optimal performance, while fostering engagement and an ownership mentality.
  • Optimize resources across multiple packaging lines to ensure safe, efficient and effective operations, adhering to quality standards.
  • Utilize continuous improvement techniques to drive performance improvements and eliminate losses in complex packaging processes, line performance, and team performance.
  • Provide necessary business and technical leadership in safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance and excellence.
  • Lead or oversee all daily management systems (e.g. shift hand-off, structured meetings) engaging team members to own performance metrics and implement tactics to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Manage cost objectives, ensuring budget adherence and cost-effective operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments to meet production demands and achieve organizational goals.
  • Develop and coordinate activities, processes, and standards to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people objectives.
  • Maintain a high level of completion of quality initiatives for plant such as CAPA Completion/ NSF Preparedness/HAACP Awareness/GMP’s with team
  • Coach and mentor employees to grow future leaders, managing performance fairly and consistently to create a culture of accountability, providing recognition, and diligently investigating issues to resolve concerns as they arise.
  • Strongly advocate for safe work habits and following safety behaviors at all levels and departments within the site above all else.
  • Ensure and maintain compliance with safety, quality, and professional standards within the food manufacturing facility.
  • Manage/adjust plant operations and schedules to ensure the most effective use of team members, materials, equipment and company resources.
  • Develop, coordinate and implement activities, processes and standards to continuously improve and achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people objectives.
  • Monitor and correct employee actions or behaviors to ensure adherence with required Company policies, procedures, systems and rules.

The Skills You Will Bring To The Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, business, or related field (or equivalent practical experience with a high school diploma or GED)
  • Manufacturing supervisory experience (Relevant Internship experience or some plant leadership experience required)
  • Experience managing Continuous Improvement through manufacturing metrics (e.g. MES/5S/OEE/LEAN MANUFACTURING)
  • Knowledge and Experience with Food Production Equipment.
  • Experience in food and/or consumer products environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of GMP/HACCP
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively facilitate continuous improvement and lead teams
  • Ability to manage and develop team members to create ownership mentality
  • Occasional flexibility to support other shifts with advanced notice

The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. Annual salary for Illinois - based employees for this role is $75,000 - $100,000.
