Description

Summary:

The Account Manager (AM) grows wallet-share within an assigned book of business and wins net-new customers that fit BSC’s strategic profile. By combining consultative selling with disciplined account planning, the AM delivers top-line revenue growth, protects margins, and strengthens long-term customer loyalty.

Responsibilities

  • Participate with management in creating an annual forecast and territory sales plan with specific account strategies and measurable goals. Revise sales plan and account strategies as needed during the course of the year.
  • Generate new business leads via networking, referrals, outbound calling, and joint vendor visits.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve customer relationships and satisfaction by conducting regular business reviews.
  • Develop new business at existing and new accounts by maximizing the number of sales calls, offering creative product and value-added service solutions.
  • Leverage BSC’s engineering resources to introduce value-added services such as re-lubrication, assemblies, and controls integration.
  • Qualify opportunities, develop value propositions, prepare proposals, negotiate pricing/terms, and close deals in alignment with margin targets.
  • Log all activities, opportunities, and forecasts in the CRM (RubberTree) and deliver weekly status reports to Sales & Branch leadership.
  • Partner with Inside Sales, Technical Support, and Supply Chain teams to ensure flawless order fulfillment and post-sale follow-up.
  • Stay current on product, application, and industry knowledge through vendor training, trade shows, and self-study; share learnings with peers.

Requirements

Experience:

  • 3-7 years in B2B account management or outside sales, ideally with bearings, PT, automation, or electrical products.
  • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of effective selling strategies and techniques.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Industrial Distribution, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), and negotiation skills.
  • Motivated self-starter comfortable in fast-paced environment with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Strong project management, multi-tasking, and strategic account planning abilities.
  • Technical expertise and knowledge of company products and industry landscape.
  • Data-driven approach using CRM, Microsoft Office Suite, and analytics dashboards.
