Position Overview:

We’re hiring a results-driven Digital Engagement Strategy Manager to lead take ownership of outbound marketing campaigns across both Watterson and J.R. Johnson (JRJ). This is a hands-on, strategic role focused on scaling our email marketing, social media presence, and digital lead generation. You’ll also lead efforts to audit and improve our online reputation, ensuring brand consistency, engagement, and visibility across all channels.

This role requires a self-driven leader who can conceptualize, implement, and manage innovative digital initiatives that align with organizational goals, without oversight. The ideal candidate will possess the analytical acumen, creative vision, and leadership skills necessary to make informed and high-impact decisions in a constantly evolving digital landscape.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this role partners closely with our internal creative team and Business Development to ensure cohesive, aligned campaigns that drive measurable pipeline impact.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Management & Execution

  • Take ownership of building and executing outbound email and social media campaigns for Watterson and JRJ, while ensuring alignment with the strategic vision set by the Director of Marketing
  • Write high-converting, brand-aligned copy for email, social, and paid digital ads
  • Oversight of all aspects of campaign management, including troubleshooting and problem solving with respect to the optimization of campaigns based on analysis of performance data and engagement trends
  • Identify and analysis of emerging market opportunities, and proactively adjust campaigns.

Brand & Platform Oversight

  • Ensure consistent visual and verbal brand identity across all digital channels
  • Work with internal stakeholders to maintain alignment with go-to-market strategies

Online Presence & Reputation Management

  • Conduct routine audits of online platforms (Google, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, etc.) for Watterson and JRJ
  • Serve as brand voice across all digital platforms, including monitoring and responding to reviews, comments, and online mentions across platforms
  • Flag and recommend improvements to enhance visibility, perception, and engagement
  • Ensure messaging is consistent, on-brand, and aligned with organization objectives.

Performance Reporting

  • Oversee and develop protocols in connection with analysis of KPIs, including open/click-through rates, conversions, lead attribution, and MQL growth, and advising management and marketing department on results and adjustments with respect to same
  • Oversee testing and optimization initiatives and determine success metrics
  • Prepare and develop reporting dashboards and metrics for performance reposts, including monthly scorecards and campaign-level performance reports for leadership and sales alignment

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 7–10 years of experience in digital marketing, with demonstrated expertise in campaign analytics, performance reporting, and cross-channel strategy
  • Strong writing skills with an eye for clarity, tone, and conversion
  • Proven track record of running successful campaigns across email and social channels
  • Familiarity with brand management and online reputation strategy
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and reporting capabilities
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with minimal oversight, and make high-stakes decisions and assume ownership of outcomes.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills.

What Success Looks Like

  • 2–4 campaigns launched monthly across Watterson and JRJ (minimum)
  • Measurable growth in qualified leads (MQLs) from digital channels
  • Proactive management of online brand presence and reputation
  • High engagement from internal stakeholders and alignment with business goals
  • Clear, actionable reporting that informs marketing and sales strategies

Work Location & Travel:

While this role is designated as remote, this individual must reside in a state where we do business. Those states include Illinois, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Louisiana, New York, New Jersey, Washington, California, Tennessee, Missouri and Oregon. Periodic travel may be requested for in-office team check-ins or collaborative meetings at Watterson headquarters and/or a Watterson field location.
