Job Information
Author technical content for Bobcat Company products that will be used to create product manuals. The candidate will learn Bobcat’s technical authoring process and become proficient on the products they are assigned through hands-on experience, collaboration with product development teams, and tracking of engineering change notices. The knowledge gained will be used to author content used in Operation and Maintenance Manuals, Service Manuals, Installation Instructions, and other technical documents used by dealers and customers.
Role & Responsibility
Education Required: Associate’s degree in a Technical, Communications, or related field. Sufficient relevant mechanical experience in lieu of degree accepted. Experience Required: <2 yearsTechnical authoring experience using a DITA xml compliant software and content management system preferred. Technical knowledge of construction, automotive, or similar equipment. Mechanical experience preferred. Ability to work on multiple projects with different due dates. Attention to detail. Travel Required:

Role & Responsibility
- Authoring Technical Content
- Author technical content for product manuals or instructions. Content may be for new products or revisions to existing products.
- Coordinate with Senior Technical Writer or Publications Manager to proofread new and revised content with subject matter experts and revise content based on feedback.
- Develop experience on assigned Bobcat products through in-person and online training opportunities and hands on operation.
- Assemble, disassemble, inspect, and adjust components on assigned products and document the processes.
- Track ECN’s for assigned products to identify relevant information to add or revise in product manuals or instructions.
- Participate in NPD team meetings, as directed by the manager, to identify information to add or revise in product manuals or instructions.
