Meat Merchandiser / Specialist

  • Grade/Level: High School or Equivalent Amount of Travel Required: Traveling is required 100%.
  • Work Schedule: Positions Supervised: Meat Departments

Position Summary

Supervise workers engaged in preparing meat. Responsible for the profitability of the meat operation within the company policy along with the Store Manager.

  • Enforce and maintain policies and programs (Including conditions and sanitation)
  • Provide ongoing training to department managers
  • Have Department Manager Meetings Quarterly
  • Work with store department managers on achieving budgets and all Operational goals. (Sales, Gross Profit, Throw-Away, SPEH, Supply Costs, Overtime, Labor Percents and Inventory)
  • Assist in department resets
  • Develop Seasonal Promotions
  • Develop weekly Merchandising Plans
  • Visit competition quarterly and report to Sales Manager with findings
  • Provide technical assistance where needed
  • Maintain accurate record keeping
  • Communicate and get input from District Managers, Store Managers and Department Managers on regular basis
  • Supervise departments on regular basis utilizing departmental checklists.
  • Give “Superior Customer Service” when making store visits
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license
