Job Summary
The mechanical leadman will directly supervise and coordinate activities of construction or extraction workers.

The mechanical leadman will directly supervise and coordinate activities of construction or extraction workers.
Essential Functions
- Sees that the crew follows all the required construction methods
- Checks that the project is proceeding according to the construction plans, and that each job is done in the proper sequence
- Helps with any necessary technical training or re-training of crew members
- Understands the safety procedures and keeps the crew following the rules
- Helps keep the work environment safe
- Oversees the various aspects of the project
- Participates in training programs, sometimes running them
- Handles the site foreman’s duties in his absence
- Handles paperwork
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks
- Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company’s safety culture
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least 3 years’ experience as a Labor Foreman
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exercise discretion and independent judgement when handling day to day information
- Excellent time-management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
- Ability to work cooperatively across all levels delivering on commitments – results oriented
- Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure to meet department targets and deadlines
- Ability to work non-routine hours, when necessary
- Ability and willingness to travel as required
- Ability to work outdoors, exposed to heat and humidity, cold and rain, and around heavy traffic areas
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
- Ability to operate job related tools
- Constantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with help
