Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to patients in a clinic setting, focusing on preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment of various health conditions. The NP or PA will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
Duties
- Performs a complete physical exam, obtains complete medical history and records findings.
- Writes orders related to prescriptions, immunotherapy, fluids or supplemental medication, transfusions.
- Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Ensure test results are obtained and reviewed.
- Recommends therapeutic plan specific to diagnosis based on established guidelines.
- Interprets medical records to determine preliminary diagnosis and appropriate timing of visits.
- Provides patient education regarding side effects, treatment plans, disease progression, prognosis and treatment options.
- Responds to questions regarding gastroenterology and hepatology services provided and refers to other specialists when appropriate.
- Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
- Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
- Provides complete documentation according to practice and coding guidelines.
- Manages in-office medical emergencies.
- Assists ancillary staff with telephone triage and clinical questions.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
- Performs related work as required.
- A Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program is required.
- Current Nurse Practitioner or PA certification and state licensure are mandatory.
- Previous experience in a clinic or occupational health setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly eCW, is advantageous.
