About The Role
The Student Recruitment & Marketing Intern will play a vital role in helping Quest Forward connect with prospective families and students across the city. This role is ideal for a college student or early-career professional who enjoys being out in the community, engaging with people, and believes in the transformative power of education. The intern will work closely with school leadership to support outreach events, manage follow-up communications, and ensure every family has a positive, informed introduction to our school.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves talking to people, wants to build skills in outreach and community engagement, and is energized by building school communities.

The intern will work closely with school leadership to support outreach events, manage follow-up communications, and ensure every family has a positive, informed introduction to our school.

Responsibilities
The role will evolve, but can generally expect:
- Represent Quest Forward Middle & High School at community events, tabling opportunities, and school fairs
- Set up and manage school recruitment booths, signage, and handouts
- Share the school’s story and mission in conversations with prospective families and students
- Distribute flyers and promotional materials in targeted neighborhoods, businesses, and high-traffic areas, tracking drop-off routes
- Capture photos and stories that highlight outreach efforts for social media or newsletters
- Edit videos into Reels and social media-ready material
- Coordinate with the school leader and enrollment team to ensure brand consistency in all outreach efforts
- Design branded flyers, posts, and promotional materials that align with the school’s visual identity and message
- Research and create proposals to connect with local businesses and organizations that are mission-aligned (e.g., education, youth services, equity) to explore collaborative marketing opportunities
- Brainstorm and help plan community-centered events to increase visibility and engagement
- Monitor local social media platforms (e.g., Facebook groups, Instagram, neighborhood forums) to organically comment on relevant posts and share information about the school in a helpful and community-minded tone
- Maintain up-to-date data and information systems
- Strong communication skills and comfort speaking with individuals and small groups
- Experience working or volunteering in community-facing roles
- Familiarity with Quest Forward l neighborhoods and community hubs is a plus
- Spanish or other language fluency is a plus, but not required
- The candidate must have reliable transportation and the ability to drive throughout Sonoma County
- Self-starter and problem solver
- Outgoing, friendly, and naturally connects with others
- Highly dependable and organized, with attention to detail in follow-ups
- Energetic and self-motivated with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset
- Embodies Quest Forward’s values of purpose, community, and high expectations
- Excited about contributing to the successful student enrollment
- Capable of lifting and handling up to 40 lbs, including independent booth setup
- Experienced in transporting booth materials in a personal vehicle
- Paid internship, approximately 20 hours per week based on school need and intern’s schedule
- On-site presence required at events and in the office
- Hourly rate: $18-22/hour (depending on experience)
- Performance-based bonuses available for meeting enrollment outreach benchmarks
- This paid internship goes from September - January, with consideration for extending the internship depending upon performance and school need
