Senior Process Engineer – 24/7 Production Facility Pasadena, Texas

The role and impact

As a Senior Process Engineer in our Plant Engineering department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of our chemical manufacturing processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing plant systems to maximize efficiency, reduce downtime, and uphold the highest standards of product quality. You will collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges, implement process improvements, and support both capital and reliability initiatives. Your contributions will directly advance our continuous improvement culture, enhance process safety, and ensure regulatory compliance across the facility.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Safety and Compliance
  • Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for process-related issues
  • Develop and execute process modifications to improve reliability, capacity, and energy efficiency
  • Support project engineering in the design and implementation of process changes and equipment upgrades
  • Analyze process data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to align process and reliability strategies.

Your work will have a direct impact on plant profitability, compliance, and operational excellence.

What you’ll bring

You bring a strong foundation in chemical engineering, with a proven ability to optimize complex manufacturing processes. Your technical expertise is complemented by a collaborative mindset and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Key Qualifications Include

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant process engineering experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in process operations, heat and mass transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics
  • Experience with process modeling tools, data analysis software, and process instrumentation
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as API and ASME, and experience with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and SAP is highly valued.

Your new team

The Process Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager. Key interfaces include Process Operators, Maintenance Engineers, Reliability Engineers, Production Supervisors, Planners, EHS staff, and Capital Project Engineers.
