Civil Estimator

About the Role: Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Estimator to support our growing portfolio of underground civil, substation, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This role focuses on estimating both brownfield (existing facility upgrades) and greenfield (new build) construction projects, with a strong emphasis on electrical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of civil construction/electrical estimating, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze RFPs to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
• Identify project risks, safety concerns, and opportunities for schedule optimization.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Prepare detailed bid packages including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Develop project schedules and milestone plans.
• Draft bid clarifications and exclusions.
• Provide input on safety protocols and risk mitigation strategies.
• Support project teams throughout the lifecycle of awarded projects.
• Assist in mentoring and training junior estimators.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience:
• Minimum 5 years in construction estimating.
• Total of 8 years of related industry experience required.
