ABOUT US
Tri-Cities Community Health (TCCH) was established in May of 1981 by five visionary women with a desire to provide quality, accessible health care for farm and migrant workers. Today, our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQCH) provides comprehensive primary care to underserved communities in Pasco, Kennewick and Richland. TCCH offers a medical home with wraparound services that include dental, behavioral health, optometry, pharmacy and endocrinology. We care for the whole patient and provide social services and special programs (WIC & Maternal Support Services) to further support our patients’ health and well-being.
PURPOSE
Under the general supervision of the Controller and CFO, the Senior Accountant assists with preparing the organization’s monthly financial statements, manages the financial close and ensures the accuracy of financial transactions and compliance with company policies and procedures along with specific focus on grant management and capital projects. Reviews and analysis reconciliations for accuracy and completeness. Continuously seek opportunities for process and workflow improvement.
Requirements
Minimum Education:
A bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Work Experience
Three years of progressively responsible accounting experience including maintaining the general ledger with exposure to federal/state contracts and grants.
Experience In a Health Care Setting Preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications: Must be bondable
Required Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
Knowledge of and experience in applying GAAP.
Proficient in accrual-based accounting.
General knowledge of standardized accounting systems.
Must be computer proficient.
Must be proficient with Excel.
Must be willing to work beyond regularly scheduled shifts.
Salary Range: $81,019.34-118,218.93/DOE

- Monthly Financial Close
- Review monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts, ensuring that correct sources are used and referenced.
- Import data from various systems into financial software, including pharmacy, medical, dental, and lease reporting. Prepare revenue accruals and allocations, ensuring recognition in the correct period.
- Assist with review and analysis of monthly financial reports.
- Research discrepancies and prepare journal entries, with backup documentation, to correct variances as necessary.
- Develop methods to improve efficiency and timeline of the monthly close.
- Grant Management
- Prepare source documents to support grant drawdowns and invoices.
- Maintain thorough documentation and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Prepare support for related audit requests, including federal single audit and grant program audits.
- Fixed Asset Management
- Maintain fixed asset database, recording depreciation, additions, and disposals.
- Manage capital projects, setting up new projects as needed, ensuring expenses are captured and allocated to the correct project, and ensuring bids, budget information, and other supporting documentation are on file.
- Prepare management reports, including budget and status reports for capital projects.
- Annual Financial Audit
- Assist with preparation of the annual financial audit and federal single audit.
- Assist in attaining the department goal of zero audit adjustments.
- Contribute to minimizing the management comments regarding significant control weakness.
- Ensure that requested information is orderly, accurate, and completed within specified deadlines.
- Ensure that the information contains adequate back-up and source references.
- Budgeting, Forecasting, and Financial Analysis
- Assist the CFO and Controller with preparation of the annual budget.
- Assist with the preparation of financial forecasts and variance analysis as required.
- Provide routine or ad hoc financial analysis, as needed.
- Ensure accurate financial tracking, analysis and reporting of grant-funded programs.
- Provide oversight to accounting staff and assist others within the department as necessary
- Review and post entries completed by accounting staff.
- Participate in interviews and candidate selection for the finance team.
- Provide training, guidance, and support as needed and serve as a liaison to those outside of the department.
