A day in the life of a CAD Engineer:
As a CAD Engineer at Hexagon US Federal, you will play a key role in delivering and supporting mission-critical Public Safety solutions. Your work will include the installation, configuration, and testing of Hexagon Public Safety products and interfaces in both on-premises and cloud-hosted environments, supporting agencies such as Police, Fire, and EMS.
You may also travel to customer sites to provide hands-on support, whether maintaining existing Hexagon systems, troubleshooting technical issues, or leading the deployment of new solutions. Every day brings a mix of technical problem-solving, collaboration with teammates, and direct engagement with customers to ensure their systems run seamlessly in 24/7 operational environments.

This job is for you if you:
- Are passionate about providing solutions to a variety of complex customer problems by utilizing your strengths in troubleshooting and implementations.
- You will apply both your technical and functional knowledge in contributing to project delivery by providing your services for a variety of clients in the Public Safety industry.
- The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years’ experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting of IT systems
- Comfortable working with multiple software and hardware platforms, including servers, workstations and network equipment
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with ability to support both technical and non-technical users
- Experience documenting technical issues and solutions in ticketing systems and project deliverables
- Experience with administering Active Directory
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and relational database structures
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively in fast-paced, mission-critical environments, including after-hours or on-call support
- Experience working in Public Safety (Fire, EMS, Police) environments is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent applicable experience
- CompTIA Security+ CE certification (preferred) or must be obtained with 6 months of hire date
- Must be able to travel as needed to customer sites
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing as it relates to conveying technical information internally and externally.
- Ability to investigate problems or malfunctions and recommend solutions or corrective actions.
- Shares knowledge and assists others in the completion of their tasks to support team goals.
- Ability to keep abreast of changing software technology.
- Ability to work directly with customers in solving hardware/software problems.
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a geographically dispersed team with little supervision and guidance
- Ability to remain in a stationary position and operate a computer for extended periods.
- Occasional ability to move or transport items up to 25 pounds
- Communicate effectively in English (verbal, written) and possess visual and auditory acuity for tasks and safety
- Manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and maintain focus in dynamic environments
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and high professional standards
