Job Summary
The Estimator position is responsible for evaluating project requirements, reviewing drawings and specifications, and preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for crane, rigging, and heavy lift projects. This person will work closely with project managers, the sales team, the operations team, and clients.

The Estimator position is responsible for evaluating project requirements, reviewing drawings and specifications, and preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for crane, rigging, and heavy lift projects. This person will work closely with project managers, the sales team, the operations team, and clients.
Essential Functions
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for crane lifts, rigging projects, and heavy haul services.
- Analyze project documents, including drawings, specifications, and scopes of work, to determine labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor requirements.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, conduct job site visits to assess logistics, site constraints, and risks.
- Determine appropriate crane sizes, rigging plans, transportation coordination, and all associated costs.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop safe and efficient lifts.
- Maintain and update estimating tools, historical cost data, and databases.
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, and company safety laws, guidelines, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting the company’s safety culture Beyond Zero
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of (5) years’ experience as an Estimator
- Strong operational understanding of the wind energy sector, transportation logistics, and oilfield/plant crane services.
- Possess a valid state driver’s license.
- Ability to pass pre-employment qualifications such as drug test, background check, and/or fit-for-duty test
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment when handling day-to-day information.
- Excellent time-management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.
- Ability to work cooperatively across all levels, delivering on commitments – results-oriented.
- Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet department targets and deadlines.
- Able to work non-routine hours, when necessary
- Ability and willingness to travel as required.
- Work extended hours
- Ability to wear required and appropriate PPE equipment.
- Occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures, fumes, or airborne particles
- Exposure to moderate noise levels in the workplace
- Ability to frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
- Office-based position
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting and/or standing constantly
- Will work in an office setting (indoors) most of the time.
- Occasionally moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one area to another
- Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (e.g., calculator, copy machine, printer)
- Constantly perform repeating motions that may include wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Frequently communicate with other members of the team. Must be able to exchange accurate information clearly.
