Position Overview
The organization is seeking a highly experienced General Manager for HR Operations to develop, lead, and optimize HR functions. This role will be instrumental in creating a positive employee relations environment, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and delivering exceptional service to employees and leadership. The GM will serve as a strategic leader, coach, and driver of employee engagement across the organization.

This role will be instrumental in creating a positive employee relations environment, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and delivering exceptional service to employees and leadership. The GM will serve as a strategic leader, coach, and driver of employee engagement across the organization.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Employee Relations Strategy
- Create, implement, and oversee the Positive Employee Relations strategy.
- Monitor engagement levels and lead Pro-Employee initiatives.
- Ensure all employee relations policies and procedures are current, accurate, and accessible.
- Regulatory Compliance & Training
- Maintain awareness of evolving labor laws and regulations.
- Design, develop, and deliver training programs focused on Positive Employee Relations.
- Oversee and manage the Workers’ Compensation Program.
- Leadership & Coaching
- Mentor and coach managers on employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Equip 100% of HR Specialists to conduct effective investigations with proper documentation.
- Lead large-scale, company-wide HR projects that improve the employee experience.
- Investigations & Case Management
- Lead or oversee workplace investigations, ensuring timely, thorough, and well-documented outcomes.
- Prepare investigation reports with conclusions and recommended next steps.
- Manage authorized involuntary separations, prepare required communications, and coordinate with HR and other departments.
- Compensation & Benefits
- Lead annual wage and benefit surveys in all operating communities.
- Ensure data supports competitive wage and benefit proposals.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
- Oversee hiring, training, performance appraisals, discipline, and terminations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience
- 15+ years in HR Operations and/or Positive Employee Relations.
- 10+ years of leadership experience, including building high-performing teams and managing through change.
- Proven record of fostering a positive workplace culture and engagement.
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Organizational Leadership, Management, or related field (preferred, not required).
- Skills & Certifications
- Strong conflict resolution capabilities.
- Proficiency in HR technology and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI).
- HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is a plus.
- Other Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 75% in year one, then up to 50% thereafter.
