We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Supply Chain Supervisor to join our team in Melbourne, FL. In this role you will monitor department policies and procedures, recommend improvements, and consult with Senior Management. You will oversee day-to-day procurement activities, assist in creating strategic supplier agreements, and execute CPSR-compliant purchase orders.
This role requires effective management of supplier relationships, monitoring metrics, and consolidating requisitions for leverage pricing. Additionally, the candidate should have the ability to lead negotiations, ensure compliance with commercial contract law, and support the organization's mission, values, and culture. What You Will Do:
- Monitor department policies and procedures and recommend improvements; consult with the Senior Management
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of an assigned procurement area
- Assist in creating Strategic Supplier Purchase Agreements
- Execute/generate CPSR-compliant purchase orders based on approved requisitions, RFPs, RFBs and other similar and necessary documents related to the purchasing of commodities or major subcontract items
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws and regulations
- Facilitate and manage all aspects of supplier and supplier issues; initiate follow-through; establish and maintain sound professional relationships; communicate supplier performance including supplier visits
- Monitor metrics and take action as appropriate; understand demand/spend profile for commodity areas; track and report cost savings or avoidances
- Consolidate requisitions as much as possible to obtain leverage pricing
- Lead negotiations and apply knowledge of commercial contract law and guidelines, practices and requirements to assess, plan and negotiate best terms and conditions and to minimize risk
- Review placement to requisition need date and length of time in purchasing
- Look for creative ways to improve purchasing ability to make contributions to the company’s goals
- Improve understanding of purchasing relationship to the overall company plans and strategy
- Research and analyze costing information for cost reduction
- Maintain current accurate records and files of all vendor agreements and related procurement records
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Perform special assignments as requested by senior management
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field (advanced degree may be required) with 3+ years experience and a minimum of two years of leadership experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership, supervisory and communication skills
- Ability to understand military specs and read blueprints
- Ability to understand and adhere to all laws pertaining to procurement, contracts, breach by contract, etc.
- Knowledge and use of price analysis
- Demonstrated negotiation skills
- Strong customer interface skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Understanding of governmental regulations and reporting requirements
