We are looking for a highly organized, versatile, hands-on Integrated Marketing Manager to support the execution and brand growth of Detroit Basketball affiliate teams associated with our sports franchise. The Integrated Marketing Manager will focus on brand marketing initiatives supporting growth priorities and cross-functional alignment with our parent organization. This role is ideal for a resourceful, roll-up-your-sleeves generalist who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and is excited to build, activate, and grow a brand at the community level.

We are looking for a highly organized, versatile, hands-on Integrated Marketing Manager to support the execution and brand growth of Detroit Basketball affiliate teams associated with our sports franchise. The Integrated Marketing Manager will focus on brand marketing initiatives supporting growth priorities and cross-functional alignment with our parent organization. Key Responsibilities
- Brand Management: Support the planning, organization, and execution of brand marketing projects tied to new business ventures, ensuring clear timelines, accountability, and follow-through.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the day-to-day liaison between internal teams (marketing, sales, partnerships, legal, finance, operations, etc.) and external partners/vendors to facilitate project milestones.
- Documentation & Tracking: Maintain project documentation, status reports, timelines, and workback schedules; ensure transparency and progress reporting across stakeholders.
- Operational Support: Assist with the development of business plans and operational workflows to support successful rollout and scaling; escalate critical issues as needed
- Brand Marketing & Identity: Help to build and evolve brand assets, collateral messaging and affiliate team’s personality and community connection shaping how it’s perceived in the local market while staying connected to the parent club’s values and voice. Ensure consistent application of the team’s brand identity across all communications and fan touchpoints.
- Brand Strategy: Translate brand strategy into grassroots-level marketing tactics that resonate with local fans.
- Marketing Operations: Manage strategic alignment and execution of promotions, theme nights and giveaways with the cross functional teams.
- Content Coordination: Collaborate with creative teams on content and social planning that promotes milestones, activations or other initiatives.
- Loyalty Program Management: Lead marketing strategy for the new Pistons Rewards loyalty platform.
- Fan Development: Support youth and esports marketing initiatives to cultivate the next generation of fans
- Entrepreneurial spirit: You take initiative, solve problems creatively, and aren’t afraid to test new ideas.
- Generalist skillset: You understand the fundamentals of marketing and are comfortable doing a little bit of everything including - paid social, email/SMS marketing and WordPress publishing
- Builder’s Mindset: You’re energized by the idea of growing something from the ground up.
- Strong writing, storytelling, and content creation skills (including social and basic email marketing).
- Excellent time management and ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience in brand marketing, grassroots outreach, or sports/event marketing is a strong plus.
- 3–5 years of marketing experience, with a track record of ownership and execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Project Management or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in project management, operations, or business support—ideally within sports, entertainment, consumer brands, or startups.
- Strong working knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated success coordinating cross-functional projects and managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- A passion for sports, innovation, and supporting entrepreneurial initiatives is a plus.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and gamedays as required.
