The City Attorney's Office is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized professional to join our team as an Administrative Support Specialist. In this role, you will ensure the proper cataloging, retention, and management of legal documents, playing a critical role in supporting the City's compliance and operational efficiency. Â While this position is part of the City Attorney's Office, it will be based at the Greensboro Police Department to provide administrative support services.

About The Role

The Administrative Support Specialist will be responsible for

  • Performing electronic cataloging of current and historical legal case files required to be retained by the City.
  • Reviewing hard copy files both in the office and from storage.
  • Applying knowledge of the City and State's records retention schedules to ensure compliance.
  • Assisting with the implementation and management of document/records/systems management software used by the City Attorney's Office.
  • Utilizing a strong and diverse technical skill set, including MS Office, MS Teams, DocuSign, Xakia, and iPad/iPhone proficiency.
  • Supporting the Legal Services Supervisor with assignments, projects, and general office assistance as needed.
  • Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with City staff, attorneys, public officials, and the public.

What You Bring

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. with 1 to 3 years of experience providing administrative support in a Legal/Law Office.
  • Experience with Municipal Records Retention and Disposition Schedule and the State Records Retention Schedule.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with records/document management systems.
  • Experience handling multiple tasks in a professional office setting while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
