The Field Service Engineer will support service of robots and robotic systems, primarily for paint and sealer applications, by providing technical assistance to customers and taking on responsibility for setup, programming, troubleshooting, and repairing of robots and peripheral devices.

The Engineer will also be responsible for supervising and providing training to Associate Field Service Engineers as necessary.

The ideal candidate is a customer-focused, problem-solver with a “service first” mindset who has experience with FANUC technology (paint and/or sealer systems) and is skilled in troubleshooting technical issues.

Primary Responsibilities Will Include

  • Provide technical support to various parts of FAC including Hotline, training segments, and to the training of Associate Service Engineers.
  • Support phone pager assignments and shift schedule support for Service needs.
  • Provide prompt, professional, and courteous solutions to customer problems.
  • Troubleshoot problems and secure any needed parts as needed.
  • Repair, maintain, rework, or retrofit of product and equipment.
  • Complete timely documentation and reports (Installation and Service reports, SVMs, Punch list, MFSs, FFRs, MIRs, Expense, and Time Reports)
  • Coordinate responsibilities, activities, parts, and schedule with Service Supervisor/Project Manager to ensure customer satisfaction, proper billing, and completion of service calls or projects.
  • Follow Engineering guidelines and other standardized procedures to comply with the product specifications, laws and regulations.
  • Procure supplies, tooling and associated installation equipment.
  • Provide support on Installation, startup and debug of the system/unit being installed, mainly paint and sealer applications as necessary.
  • Create quotes for service and close Service Reports.
  • Travel to customer sites as required (~80%).

Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following Experience And Education

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent technical education; or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working in a related environment with robotics integration, installation, or service repairs preferred.
  • Experience with analyzing and solving service and robot installation problems.
  • Proven experience performing intricate repairs on mechanical and electrical items.
  • Ability to successfully work in a highly autonomous environment.
  • A valid driver’s license is required due to the travel required in this role.
