Job Description: Safety ManagerCLASSIFICATION PURPOSE
This exempt supervisory position is responsible for performing a variety of administrative, supervisory, and safety tasks related to field operations, legal compliance, and program development aimed at creating and sustaining a results-oriented safety culture; perform related work as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee company-wide safety programs (IIPP, Emergency Action Plan, Heat Illness Prevention, Vehicle Safety, etc.)

  • Review and update safety plans annually

  • Supervise Safety Officers and Driver Safety Trainers (hiring, training, evaluation, discipline)

  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and training requirements

  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections

  • Maintain accurate safety data and documentation (including SDS and digital tracking systems)

  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all departments

  • Coordinate and review accident and injury investigations

  • Work with internal teams on claims, corrective actions, and safety improvements

  • Support Estimating Department with safety input when needed

  • Lead weekly tailgate safety meetings and ensure training materials are relevant and compliant

  • Manage administrative safety duties, paperwork, and legal documentation

  • Train on-site team members in safety protocols across various locations

  • Ensure vehicle, yard, and job site safety standards are met

  • Communicate safety-related updates to managers, supervisors, and staff

  • Use Microsoft Office, Windows OS, and internal software efficiently

  • People Management: Responsible for staffing, training, and performance management; approves all paperwork; complies with all human resources procedures; views employees as assets.
  • Customer Service: Consistently exceeds customer expectations; keeps customers well-informed, listens to them attentively, and addresses their concerns; enacts a personal approach to customer service.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Treats others with respect, collaboration, and support in such a way that work relationships are improved and morale is increased; is approachable; has effective communication skills.
Salary range: $80k 110k DOE

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

What We’re Looking For:

  • 4+ years of safety experience in the landscape industry

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • Strong leadership, training, and compliance skills

  • Cal-OSHA 30 (or ability to obtain within 3 months)

  • CPR/First Aid certification (within 6 months)

  • Valid CA Driver’s License
