Description
CBL Properties is seeking a capable Paralegal in the Legal department. The Paralegal is to effectively function as a member of the team whose primary responsibilities include the production of documents and facilitation of processes associated with the leasing of space in a timely and accurate fashion.
General job responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in commercial real estate leasing setting with a focus on retail or office lease abstracting or reviewing or Associates Degree or Paralegal Certification with minimum of two years’ experience in commercial real estate leasing setting with a focus on retail or office lease abstracting or reviewing.
Strong written and verbal communication, technology, and organizational skills.

CBL Properties is seeking a capable Paralegal in the Legal department. The Paralegal is to effectively function as a member of the team whose primary responsibilities include the production of documents and facilitation of processes associated with the leasing of space in a timely and accurate fashion.
General job responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Process document request forms received by legal from leasing
- Verify that all documents produced "in-house" match the request received from the leasing agent and that any changes are appropriately approved by the leasing agent and/or vice president before giving to negotiator to initial prior to landlord execution.
- Send document requests to outside counsel for production and negotiation. Create files for all documents sent to outside legal counsel and update status report.
- Process fully executed documents
- Process tenant executed documents
- Send out hard copies of leases to tenants
- Purge out for signature documents that have been fully executed or killed
- Send out space designation letter
- Update in-process documents when landlord entity changes and notify negotiators and other related parties as appropriate
- L2L responsibilities:
- Moving Workflow steps/updating notes during verification
- Adding outside counsel as the producer/negotiator on their deals
- Communicating with outside counsel about their deals and updating L2L as needed
- Moving deals to “dormant” as needed
