Basic Function: To assist teachers and school site personnel to achieve instructional objectives by student groups or individual students to achieve grade level or higher standards. Employees in this classification will be required to participate in training activities related to assessment and English Learner support activities at an assigned work site and at locations throughout the District during certain times of the year for preparation and/or completion of assessment. This job class requires basic computer knowledge and the ability to learn different software applications related to student assessment. Evaluation and supervision will be conducted by an assigned site administrator or designee. Attendance at trainings and ongoing technical assistance sessions, coordinated by the school district, is required. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED is required. Candidate must have basic knowledge of computer operating systems; knowledge of basic internet and email functions, including the ability to download and upload files to a variety of sources, as directed. Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms with teachers, students, parents, and community members. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation are essential. Possession of a valid California driver’s license is required. Candidate must have a willingness and ability to work occasional extra evening hours and at different sites. Experience with database technology and Excel is required. Candidate must understand, speak, read and write one or more of the following languages: Spanish, Vietnamese, Punjabi, Tagalog, Korean, or Chinese (Mandarin).
