General Statement of Duties
Forsyth County's Department of Management Information Services (MIS) has an opening for an Administrative Assistant. Are you organized, tech-savvy, and thrive in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a highly motivated Information Technology Administrative Assistant to support our IT/MIS department. In this vital role, you'll provide administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth functioning of daily IT operations.
You'll be responsible for managing documentation, coordinating payments and contracts, and assisting with general office tasks that keep our tech team running efficiently.
Distinguishing Features
A successful candidate should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Knowledge of the methods involved in the preparation and administration of departmental budgets.
Ability to maintain work standards of program activities and ability to analyze and correct errors.
Ability to communicate with others tactfully and courteously over the telephone and in person.
Thorough knowledge of effective supervisory practices and ability to plan and supervise the work of others.
Thorough knowledge of office management techniques including the ability to organize work flow and coordinate activities.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
Minimum Education And Experience
Graduation from high school or GED and four years of progressively responsible clerical/administrative/office management experience.
A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the U.S. Department of Justice's Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check. Applicants for this position will complete the CJIS background check as a part of the recruitment process. Completion does not guarantee an offer of employment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to
Process and track all IT-related invoices, bills, and purchase order.
Enter payments into finance systems (e.g., FC Connect), including P-Card and PO transactions.
Maintain and organize IT contract records using Contract Control or similar systems.
Coordinate communications and scheduling within the IT team and with other departments.
Support IT staff with administrative tasks such as reports, documentation, and inventory tracking.
Act as the primary point of contact for vendors and service providers regarding billing or contractual issues.
Assist with onboarding processes for new IT staff, including access setup and documentation.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures related to IT operations.
Performs related work as required.
