Summary
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for in-process and release testing of products manufactured at VGXI. Will provide support for new assay development, method transfers, risk assessments, assay qualifications, change controls and validations. Set-up, organization, and day-to-day operations of a Quality Control Lab are also required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible For One Or More QC Assays As Follows
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree or equivalent from college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Osmolality
- Filter Integrity Testing
- DNA Concentration by A260 and Purity by A260/280
- Endotoxin
- Host Cell Protein Quantitation
- Gel electrophoresis
- Restriction
- RNA Quantitation
- Plasmid Forms Analysis
- Transcriptional Activity / Cell Culture
- Host Cell Genomic DNA Quantitation
- Raw Material Release testing
- ELISA assays
- CGE
- Organize all accumulated data.
- Keep notebooks up to date, signed, and reviewed.
- Write reports as needed and enter data in software programs.
- Write Standard Operating Procedures and Protocols.
- Spectramax software
- HPLC software
- Gel imaging software
- PowerPoint, Excel and Word software
- Lab supplies (stocked, ordered and labeled)
- Cleaning lab (trash removal, sweeping, etc.)
- Cleaning glassware (washing, autoclaving)
- Calibration and preventive maintenance of equipment
