We are seeking qualified applicants for the contract position of Offsite Material Manager located in Lake Charles, LA.

The Offsite Material Manager reports to the Project Materials Manager and is a key member of the Materials Management team at Venture Global Calcasieu Pass 2 Liquified Natural Gas (CP2LNG). This position will oversee the planning, execution, and management of all offsite warehousing and laydown yard operations supporting the construction project. The Offsite Material Manager will ensure that all materials and equipment are received, stored, preserved, and sequenced for delivery to the construction site in alignment with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) requirements and project construction schedules.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in material management for major industrial construction projects, proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, and hands-on expertise with material tracking software such as SiteSense (or equivalent systems).

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management
  • Direct and manage warehouse supervisors, laydown yard supervisors, crane & rigging supervisors, and quality inspectors.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant material handling and storage practices.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance management for the materials management team.

Material Management & Logistics

  • Oversee receiving, warehousing, laydown, preservation, and issue of project materials.
  • Maintain material readiness to support Construction Work Areas (CWA) and Installation Work Packages (IWP).
  • Coordinate with construction and planning teams to sequence material deliveries to site in line with project schedules.
  • Manage preservation, bag-and-tag, and staging activities to maintain material integrity until installation.

Crane, Rigging, & Yard Operations

  • Supervise heavy lift operations and rigging plans for material handling in laydown areas.
  • Optimize yard layout for efficient storage, retrieval, and staging of large equipment and bulk materials.

Systems & Tracking

  • Oversee the use material tracking software to ensure real-time visibility of material status.
  • Ensure accurate reporting, traceability, and compliance with project and client requirements.
  • Integrate material status reporting with AWP systems to drive construction efficiency.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, preservation procedures, and inspection protocols.
  • Maintain compliance with project environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Support audits, client reporting, and documentation of material handling activities.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of materials management experience on large industrial construction projects with 4+ years in a leadership role (LNG, petrochemical, power generation, or similar EPC projects strongly preferred).
  • Direct leadership experience managing warehousing, laydown yards, rigging operations, and quality teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and material sequencing principles.
  • Hands-on experience with material management/tracking software (SiteSense preferred).
  • Proven ability to coordinate across disciplines (construction, planning, procurement, logistics).
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
