Primary Responsibilities
- Make outreach calls to providers for coordination of behavioral health services
- Responsible for answering provider queue calls and completing administrative authorizations
- Submit referrals to Case Management Program
- Working with Clinical Services team and facilities under the direction of the Clinical Manager
- Perform special projects under the direction of the Clinical Manager
- Process faxes, emails and other non-phone inquiries
- Perform provider and appointment searches including confirmation of appointments with providers
- Outreach to facility providers for clinical review reminders
- Complete administrative paperwork, preparing letters and other documents
- Complete data entry into electronic records, including Minnesota Medicaid Information Systems
- Attend/participate in all required Medica facilitated meetings and/or trainings
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED
- 1+ years of experience with Managed Care or Call Center
- 1+ years of Microsoft Office experience (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- 1+ years of experience in an environment where solid oral and written communication skills, specifically telephonic skills were required
- 1+ years of experience in an environment where effective organizational skills and problem-solving skills were required
- Interest in Mental Health as this position works with population that utilizes services in this area
- Proven ability to multi-task as priorities may be ever changing
- Must be a self-starter, with the proven ability to work independently
- Able to work 8am - 5pm (Central Time Zone)
- Bachelor's degree in social work or psychology
- Casework experience at hospitals, social service agencies or community mental health centers
- Experience working in an environment that required coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple groups and resources for patients
- Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse
- Experience working with the older adult or disabled populations
