We are pleased to offer the temporary job opportunity for a Special Projects Coordinator within the County Board Office. Â This temporary position is fully remote and expected to conclude March 31, 2026. This position contributes to the County Board Office by providing support and guidance to assigned County Board Commissions, Departments and other Elected Official Departments. Â This position will also handle a variety of research projects and conduct analysis related to County Board initiatives.

Responsibilities Include

  • Coordinates activities and manages projects and initiatives for the County Board Office
  • Acts as a liaison between the County Board Office and Elected Official Offices, assigned offices include the Sheriff's Office and the 18th Judicial Circuit Court
  • Provides guidance to County Board Departments, Elected Officials, and community groups on a variety of county projects and initiatives
  • Prioritizes and provides guidance on special projects to ensure policies, procedures, and programs are actively and effectively implemented and adhere to state and federal mandates, rules, and regulations
  • Maintains a broad understanding of project activities and processes
  • Ensures progress toward accomplishment of goals, objectives, and benchmarks related to assigned projects
  • Builds and maintains relationships with Elected Officials, County Department Heads, and a variety of community groups
  • Researches potential policy and program initiatives in connection with specific issues pertaining to County government
  • Collaborates with department leadership, elected leaders, and stakeholders throughout the organization to ensure alignment and integration of projects and initiatives
  • Assists in developing positions and communicating information including the preparation of speaking points for the Chair, County Board Members, and others
  • Assists County Board Members with projects as requested
  • Reviews and responds to incoming correspondence within areas of responsibility
  • Serves as a liaison and acts as the County's representative as assignedÂ
  • Explains procedures and statutes to taxing districts, attorneys, and the public
  • Establishes and maintains a professional work environment while providing appropriate leadership
  • Promotes positive morale, creativity, and teamwork

Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Seven years of experience in government administration
  • Three years of experience in a management level position
