This position will be responsible for planning and leading the implementation of after-school programming at our Oakland SWB Middle School Sites. The Program Coordinator will be the head coach of two middle school girls' teams with the support of assistant coaches. This will include English-integrated soccer practice, community-building activities, and homework help.

Additionally, the Program Coordinator will support the organization through administrative and program

support roles as described below. Specific administrative and organization-wide responsibilities for this position may include coordinating SWB Bay Area monitoring and evaluation processes, special event planning and implementation, and development/advancement support. We aim to maximize the strengths and interests of our team members, and because of this, administrative responsibilities are subject to change.

Team Leadership Support (10%)

  • Actively participate in the Bay Area team through weekly meetings
  • Support the partnership between Bay FC and Soccer Without Borders
  • Maintain healthy relationships with site staff, community members and school faculty at each location

Direct Service (70%):

  • Lead comprehensive, holistic, and youth-centered programming with newcomer youth throughout the year, including after-school and summer programming
  • Direct program planning & facilitation
  • Lead player recruitment and retention
  • Academic monitoring and advocacy
  • Game Preparation (including transportation coordination with supervisor)
  • Student & Family Engagement

Program Support (10%): The Program Coordinator will also play a key role in securing the inputs needed to ensure SWB Oakland can operate successfully.

  • Timely Monitoring & Reporting (Attendance/Academic Reporting & coordination with SWB staff)
  • Communication Support
  • Lead the relationship with school admin and staff members
  • Support other SWB program sites as needed

Program/Organization-Wide Responsibilities (10%)

  • Participate in weekly SWB Bay Area staff meetings and facilitate as needed.
  • Actively participate in SWB-wide culture-building, connection, and professional development via SWB Wednesdays
  • Represent SWB at conferences, community events, and with media as appropriate.

Salary: Approximately 7 to 8 weeks of vacation each year.
