Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY: At Claritev, we are revolutionizing healthcare payments through innovative solutions and data-driven insights. As the Director of Responsible AI, you will lead Claritev’s governance and compliance strategy for the ethical, safe, and compliant use of AI technologies across the organization. This senior leadership role establishes and oversees governance mechanisms that ensure alignment with international regulations, legal obligations, and Claritev’s ethical commitments.

The role requires close collaboration with executive leadership, legal and compliance teams, and regulatory stakeholders to shape and operationalize Claritev’s Responsible AI Framework across the full AI development lifecycle. The Head of Responsible AI is expected to anticipate legal and societal developments, interpret evolving global regulations, and drive cross-functional accountability for responsible AI practices.

The ideal candidate brings experience in policy frameworks, governance systems, and compliance infrastructure within the AI domain, with the ability to translate complex requirements into operational processes.

Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Set the vision and long-term direction for Responsible AI governance.
  • Own and continuously improve the Responsible AI Framework, ensuring alignment with ethical, legal, and technical standards.
  • Lead organization-wide governance initiatives to ensure AI solutions are safe, secure, accurate, and privacy-preserving.

Governance & Compliance

  • Develop internal policies, principles, and workflows consistent with emerging regulations, ethical guidelines, and risk management standards.
  • Monitor global AI legislation and industry standards, ensuring proactive compliance and readiness for audits.
  • Establish accountability structures, decision rights, and escalation procedures across AI initiatives.

Cross-Functional Engagement

  • Partner with legal, regulatory, privacy, and executive leaders to ensure alignment and accountability.
  • Communicate technical outcomes in clear, actionable terms for business, legal, and client stakeholders.
  • Represent Claritev in external forums, audits, and regulatory discussions on AI governance.

Responsible AI Practice Enablement

  • Define and implement processes for tracking model fairness, bias, and interpretability.
  • Support independent audits, internal reviews, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and onboarding content to embed responsible AI practices across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of trust, transparency, and accountability in AI use.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record in AI governance, compliance, or risk management in a regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of global AI regulations, ethical AI standards, and emerging best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement governance frameworks across the AI lifecycle.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging executives, regulators, and technical teams.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts (e.g., bias detection, interpretability) into business and regulatory insights.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence organizational direction.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, And Training)

  • Must have 10+ years in Data Science, 5+ years in building policy frameworks, governance systems, and compliance infrastructure within the AI and healthcare technology domain.
  • Must have 3+ years leading Data Science or AI governance function and teams.
  • Mastery of data mining, model building, algorithms, simulations, and statistical techniques. Proficiency in Python and generative AI technologies preferred.
  • Problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Healthcare and process optimization experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's in Quantitative Science; Master's or PhD preferred.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $200K to $220K. Specific offers take into account a candidate’s education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate’s work location and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.
