Position Summary

The Education Coordinator will help ensure the successful implementation of the After-School Literacy and Club curriculums by offering group leaders and teachers ongoing support and guidance work on an ongoing basis to assess level of engagement and to determine learning needs.

Essential Duties

  • Understand and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Create and maintain a system by which group leaders/teachers have ready access to curricular and homework help materials.
  • Act as a liaison between regular school day and after school programs and teachers to ensure the afterschool program supports the school’s educational goals for children.
  • Communicate regularly with the Program Director regarding curriculum implementation issues, particularly concerning teachers’ and group leaders’ materials/supplies needs.
  • Provide feedback on group leader performance, as requested by the Program Director, for the purpose of staff evaluation.
  • Meet, as needed, with the CAS Director of Curriculum to give site update and share feedback.
  • Additional duties as required by the Program and/or Community School Director.
  • The Educational Coordinator is directly responsible to the Program Director.
  • Understand and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Education.
  • 3-5 years teaching experience.
  • Significant supervisory experience.

Key Competencies

  • At least one-year experience working with children, tutoring, or teaching is highly preferred.
  • Field of study in Education or Social Work.
