Description

The Healthcare Program Analyst is responsible for analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of healthcare program operations. This role will focus on synthesizing and interpreting healthcare operations and policy data, conducting research to identify best practices, and providing actionable insights to improve program performance. The Program Analyst will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and data teams to support assessments and deliver reports that align with organizational goals and compliance requirements.

The Healthcare Program Analyst will play a critical role in providing strategic insights and recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare programs. This role is suited for an analytical thinker with experience in data analysis, program evaluation, and a strong understanding of healthcare operations and policy.

  • Role Details: This is a temporary W2 role for 3 months, with the possibility of follow-on work, though it is not guaranteed. The position is remote, but preferred candidates would be located in the VA/MD/DC area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, synthesize, and analyze healthcare operations and policy data to support both individual and integrated assessments, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client needs.
  • Conduct comparative research and policy reviews to identify best practices across federal and private-sector systems, contributing to process improvement recommendations.
  • Translate raw data, stakeholder inputs, and findings into clear, structured insights to support the development of reports and strategic recommendations.
  • Support project tracking, data validation, and quality assurance efforts to ensure accuracy and consistency across multiple concurrent assessments.
  • Collaborate with SMEs, data teams, and other stakeholders to extract actionable findings from large datasets and system reports, informing decision-making and project direction.
  • Develop briefing materials and visuals that distill complex topics into concise, decision-ready formats for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and impact.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in program analysis, data analysis, or a related field, preferably in healthcare operations or policy.
  • Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in performing data analysis, managing multiple projects, and developing clear reports and recommendations for senior leadership.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Data Analysis Expertise: Strong proficiency in collecting, synthesizing, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, particularly in healthcare operations and policy contexts.
  • Healthcare Operations Knowledge: Solid understanding of healthcare systems, program operations, and policy frameworks, with a focus on federal and private-sector comparisons.
  • Research and Policy Review: Experience conducting research and policy reviews to identify trends, best practices, and areas for improvement across healthcare systems.
  • Report Development & Communication: Excellent ability to develop clear, structured reports and briefing materials that effectively communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with SMEs, data teams, and other stakeholders to extract actionable insights from large datasets and system reports.
  • Quality Assurance & Data Validation: Strong attention to detail and expertise in supporting data validation, quality assurance, and project tracking to ensure the reliability of deliverables.
  • Data Visualization: Proficiency in creating visuals and presentation materials that effectively distill complex data and insights into decision-ready formats.

Work Schedule

Consistent, full-time work expected Monday – Friday, eight hours per day in a focused and fast-paced environment.
