Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison and expert for the assigned specialist area
- Coach and provide support to Branch Managers
- Perform evaluations of assigned Branch Managers
- Review branch production and staff needs
- Communicate credit union goals and strategies
- Maintain and supervise all branch activities and soundness of the home branch’s operational integrity
- Act as an ambassador to the credit union, prospecting and developing community involvement and awareness of the credit union in their geographic area
- Create and maintain a culture of respect, professionalism, knowledge, accountability, and member experience with their team
- Maintain proper staffing levels in the branch, including recruiting, interviewing, and hiring
- Meet regularly with the VP, Branches to discuss branch activities and performance, and develop action plans to increase production in areas identified
- Communicate branch performance to the team, providing enthusiasm and support, while also holding employees accountable for their performance
- Have a complete working knowledge of all Deseret First products and services, and ensuring team competencies around those products and their presentation to credit union members
- Partner with Assistant Branch Manager to mentor, develop, motivate, and discipline branch employees on an on-going basis
- Oversee coaching opportunities with staff in operations, sales behaviors, member relations, and career development
- Perform various member transactions, i.e. teller functions, new accounts, loans, IRAs, and business accounts when needed
- Provide solutions to staff and member issues
- Emulate and understand the Deseret First mission statement/guiding principles, and help to achieve goals and objectives in conjunction with the credit union’s strategic plan
- Maintain an understanding of credit union production goals and the ability to analyze, coach and improve branch production and efficiency
- Participate in offsite marketing events to promote DFCU

- Eight years of retail branch experience preferred
- Relevant management experience required
- College degree required, experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
- Leadership aptitude and desire to continually develop leadership skills
- Strong ability to champion, promote, and deliver
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Significant level of trust and diplomacy are required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact
- Sensitivity to varying degrees of competency within employee skillsets and background, and ability to build the team in an encouraging and positive environment
- Strong work ethic and ownership of retail branch location (franchisee mentality)
- Ability to create a fun, enjoyable, and professional work environment
- Strong organizational competency
- Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to learn new software easily
- Basic math skills
- Will spend approximately 25% of their time visiting the other branches in their region, attending meetings as needed, regional business meetings with the VP Branch Services, and duties associated with their assigned area of specialization.

- This position requires the individual to perform all duties out of the physical work location
- Some travel, as needed
