Certifications: First aid, CPR, Emergency behavior intervention
Work experience: Required – Four (4) to six (6) years of related experience and/or training; Preferred – Six (6) plus years of related experience and/or training. Certification as an Ombudsman preferred.

Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables:
- Act as primary point of contact for the ombudsman entity.
- Gather information and make decisions regarding process in an independent, autonomous manner to ensure the dignity of the process.
- Field all questions, suggestions, concerns and complaints from the organization.
- Develop guidelines, procedures, and action steps for the agency Ombudsman program.
- Oversee investigations of complaints and consult with President regarding resolution.
- Advocate, mediate, and communicate as necessary on behalf of program staff.
- Provide education programs or presentations to programs, departments, or staff regarding the Ombudsman program.
- Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
- Provide technical standards compliance assistance to staff, supervisors, and administrators as requested.
- Provide timely and accurate records, data and/or reports to the President upon request.
- Build strong relationships with both external & internal contacts.
- Collaborate as a team member using diverse analytic skills and background.
- Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by supervisor.
- Develop, write, and review organizational policies and procedures, and practices for compliance with state and federal standards for programs; and makes recommendations for revisions.
- Participate in scheduled meetings, team decisions and operations.
- Assist with preparing, analyzing, monitoring, and correcting data for reports.
- Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
- Maintain Breckenridge Village professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in Breckenridge Village employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, residents, and community members and always complying with required dress code.
- Ensure the data provided to leadership within Breckenridge Village is of high quality of content and context for accuracy, currency, and is free from critical errors, including inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies.
- Review all data to ensure compliance with federal, CARF accreditation, state minimum standards, internal policy and procedures, and other contractual requirements.
- Analyze data for quality reviews and audits to support the completion of quality analysis reports to be used in the identification of recommendations for continuous quality improvement actions.
- Ensure staff entrance and exit from Breckenridge Village is surveyed, evaluated, and if necessary, actionable.
- Meet all pre-determined deadlines required by program and federal/state partners.
- Present or obtain Certified Ombudsman status.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
- Present in a professional manner, always adhering to the organization’s code of conduct.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
- Pass pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
- Demonstrate the ability to:
- Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals.
- Provide crisis intervention according to training provided by Breckenridge Village when needed to maintain a safe environment.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.
- Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
- Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Breckenridge Village policies and procedures.
