Machine Operator Trainee

The Extrusion Operator sets, monitors, and runs an extrusion line(s). This role requires experience with plastic extrusion and associated equipment.

• Contributes to accident-free operations and compliance to all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements and regulations.
• Starts, operates, maintains and shuts down extrusion and down-line equipment as well as performing die changes and color changes.
• Accurately completes and records quality checks, color checks, and color set-point controls within the specified guidelines.
• Maintains knowledge and strict adherence to the Bills of Process (BOP) and Critical to Quality (CTQ) standards Identifies defects and documents work orders for repair in accordance with the CIL's (Clean, Lube, Inspect); diagnosing process and equipment defects, making minor repairs, documents work orders when necessary and assisting Maintenance personnel as needed.
  
  

Proven knowledge of and experience with extrusion process and demonstrated understanding of how process equipment works; Strong mechanical aptitude; Understand manufacturing processes and technologies; Strong decision making, analytical skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally; Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving abilities; Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
