Molex is seeking a dynamic and proactive Group Manager – Project Management for our Transportation Solutions Business Unit (TSBU). The role will lead a local team of Project Managers in our Rochester Hills, MI design center. Our Project Management team leads global, cross functional teams through the design, validation, and implementation of our products, including the processes by which they are built.
As a Group Manager, you will coach and develop your team to be successful project managers that deliver products that our customers value. You will also be a key point of contact for various disciplines across the organization to prioritize projects and product development activities.
The right person for this role will thrive on moving the needle to exceed business objectives that will take Molex and our customers to the next level.

What You Will Do
- Develop a team of empowered leaders who fully own and are accountable for delivering products that meet our customer’s needs.
- Lead team members in project management principles, PDP processes, risk management, issue resolution, decision making, economic thinking, etc.
- Partner with managers and leaders in various disciplines to align on prioritization and remove hurdles for project teams.
- Support your team in proactively escalating major project risks to TSBU leadership and managing communication with our customers and suppliers.
- Identify and track key performance indicators for your team to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Help to identify and implement project management tools and systems which enhance and improve the performance of product development teams.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field
- Proven capability to lead with a sense of ownership and accountability
- 7+ years of Product Development Specific Project Management Experience in a Technical Environment
- 3+ years of Customer-Facing or External Executive Facing Experience
- Experience leading multi-national teams in a matrixed organization.
- Working experience of Automotive Product Development, Quality Management Systems, Advanced Quality Planning
- Strong working experience with MS Project, MS Office and workflow tools
- Strong listening skills and a customer, quality and team focus
- Engineering or Manufacturing degree or experience
- Experience working for an Automotive Tier 1/2
- PMP Certified
- SAP Experience
