Job Overview

At Overdoors of Illinois, we're looking for Commercial Door Systems Technician who thrive on troubleshooting, problem-solving, and keeping businesses up and running. In this role, you'll handle everything from rolling steel and sectional doors to dock levelers and openers. Some days you'll run solo service calls, and other days you'll work with a small crew on larger projects. Every job is different, which means you'll constantly be learning, adapting, and using your mechanical and electrical skills to deliver solutions our customers can trust.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial rolling steel doors, sectional doors, high-speed, dock levelers, gate operators, and openers.
• Perform preventative maintenance on commercial systems.
• Troubleshooting electrical systems.
• Safely operate lifts, rigging equipment, and power tools.
• Working at heights, in freezers, and all weather conditions
• Handle service calls with professionalism, providing fast and effective solutions.
• Communicate with customers clearly and respectfully to explain issues and repairs.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in clean, safe condition.
  
  

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Commercial Doors, mechanical, electrical, or construction-related trades preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Comfortable working independently or with a small crew.
• Safety-conscious and reliable under pressure.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus.

Schedule

• Full-Time: Monday - Friday
• Standard daytime hours with occasional after-hours emergency service rotation.
