The CFB has enjoyed a tremendous arc of progress over its 30-year history, and our updated flagship small donor democracy program is the centerpiece of this progress.

The Marketing and Digital Communications unit leads the top-level marketing and communications strategy for the CFB and creates the strategy for all public-facing materials that directly engage and serve the needs of five million New Yorkers in thirteen languages through the agency’s voter engagement initiative, NYC Votes.
Job Description
The Public Affairs department of the New York City Campaign Finance Board seeks a Digital Media Manager to lead the strategy, planning, and execution of digital content across the agency’s social and digital platforms. The Digital Media Manager will develop social content calendars, manage influencer campaigns, collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver high-quality creative across formats, and analyze performance metrics to optimize campaigns and provide actionable insights to stakeholders. Reporting to the Content Strategist, this role will supervise a Social Media Manager. We are looking for an exceptional digital storyteller who is passionate about breaking down barriers to participation by creating accessible, engaging digital content that empowers New Yorkers to participate in the democratic process and connects them to key civic information where they are online.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college including or supplemented by at least twelve-semester credits (or the equivalent of twelve-semester credits) in accounting, auditing, business or public administration, computer science, economics, finance, statistics, graphic design, personnel or human resources administration, user experience design, or a closely related area of study and one year of satisfactory full-time experience in accounting, auditing (including compliance or investigative auditing), business or public administration, business analysis, computer science, database administration, economics, finance, fiscal or economic management or research, statistics, graphic design, personnel or human resources administration, user experience design, or a closely related field; or
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described in “1” above; or
Education and/or experience equivalent to “1” above.

- Develop and maintain master and specialized social media calendars aligned with election cycles and strategic priorities.
- Manage influencer campaigns and partnerships, tracking performance metrics and ensuring alignment with messaging strategies and agency objectives.
- Supervise content creation across formats (video, graphics, copy), providing creative direction to internal teams and external vendors while ensuring brand voice and accessibility standards.
- Collect, analyze, and report on digital content performance, providing data-driven insights to optimize campaigns and inform stakeholders.
- Maintain rapid-response workflows to publish timely, relevant content during high-intensity periods, ensuring accurate and accessible information for all audiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute campaigns that engage priority audiences, including youth voters, voters with disabilities, LOTE communities, and justice-impacted voters.
- Ensure all content meets accessibility, inclusivity, and language access standards.

- Digital Media Strategy: Understanding of platform-specific best practices for Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, and other emerging digital channels.
- Social Media Analytics & KPIs: Knowledge of engagement metrics, performance benchmarks, and methods to evaluate content effectiveness.
- Content Planning & Editorial Practices: Knowledge of master and specialized content calendars and content planning around elections and organizational goals.

- 2–4 years of experience in social media management, digital content strategy or cross-channel campaign execution
- Proven ability to develop content for diverse and multilingual audiences, with an understanding of accessibility and language access best practices
- Familiarity with New York City government, civic engagement initiatives, or voter education is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Proficiency in Spanish, Bangla, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), or Korean to support content development and engagement with diverse New York City audiences.
