Position Summary

The Forecasting Analyst will play a critical role on the project implementation team responsible for managing and maintaining the Unified Forecast in Logile for both Labor and Fresh operations. This role bridges data science, operations, and business intelligence by ensuring accurate, timely, and actionable forecasts that drive efficient workforce management and optimized fresh product operations. By combining statistical rigor with operational insights, the Forecasting Analyst will help maximize the value of the Unified Forecast and support consistent execution across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Forecast Management & Maintenance

  • Configure, validate, and manage Logile’s Unified Forecast for Labor and Fresh categories.
  • Ensure forecasts accurately reflect sales, production, and labor demand across all business units.
  • Continuously monitor forecast performance and adjust parameters to improve accuracy.

Compliance & Forecasting Discipline

  • Partner with Workforce Management to enforce adherence to forecast.
  • Monitor adjustments and provide visibility into non-compliance trends.
  • Develop tools and reporting to provide insights that will help business partners drive accountability throughout the organization.

Data Analysis & Insights

  • Apply advanced statistical methods to assess forecast accuracy, variance, and business impact.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis of forecast deviations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Build performance dashboards and present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Project Implementation

  • Act as a core team member in the Logile Fresh and Labor forecasting implementation.
  • Support system testing, validation, and go-live activities for the Unified Forecast model.
  • Document forecasting processes, compliance practices, and operational standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Fresh Operations, Workforce Management, and Store Operations teams to understand business drivers and incorporate them into models.
  • Collaborate with IT and Data Engineering teams to ensure seamless data integration and system performance.
  • Provide training and support to ensure adoption and compliance across the business.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in forecasting, workforce management, or retail analytics.
  • Demonstrated competency in advanced statistics (time series modeling, regression, variance analysis, probability, confidence intervals, etc.).
  • Strong technical proficiency in SQL, Excel, and at least one statistical programming or analysis tool (e.g., R, Python, SAS).
  • Experience creating and interpreting dashboards in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Ability to translate complex statistical models into clear, actionable business insights.

Bilingual in English and Spanish, spoken and written.

Preferred

  • Experience with Logile or other labor/workforce management and forecasting systems.
  • Retail grocery, fresh operations, or labor planning background.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks or experience in operational discipline/enforcement roles.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence leaders and operators to follow best practices.

  • This position is headquartered in the Northgate Gonzalez Market Support Center. As such, this position is defined as full-time and on-site. Any remote work or work performed outside of the Support Center must be authorized by the Department’s Supervisor.
