Overview
This role is responsible for leading both direct and indirect procurement activities across the organization. Management of categories include but are not limited to: Capital Equipment, Clinical and Non-Clinical supplies, Repair and Maintenance, Purchased Services, etc.. The position oversees the execution of procurement category strategies, strategic sourcing initiatives, and supplier relationship management for assigned spend categories. Key responsibilities include sourcing, contract negotiation, benchmarking, PO placement, Invoice management, and supplier performance evaluation.
Working in close collaboration with internal functional teams and external suppliers, this role ensures the successful implementation of supply strategies that reduce operating expenses, enhance supplier performance, and improve service delivery across all business units.

Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
- Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to partner with suppliers and foster long-term business partnerships that align with organizational goals.
- Lead complex end-to-end RFx events in collaboration with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives and procurement best practices.
- Negotiate favorable terms with vendors to secure optimal value, while tracking and reporting key performance metrics to drive cost reduction and process efficiency.
- Promote and manage the use of Preferred Suppliers, leading supplier consolidation initiatives grounded in strategic analysis and execution.
- Oversee the procurement of goods and services, including approval of orders and finalization of purchase and delivery terms.
- Continuously improve the source-to-pay process to enhance procurement effectiveness and deliver measurable value to internal stakeholders.
- Provide strategic thought leadership to identify additional opportunities for cost savings, operational efficiencies, and improvements in sourcing and contract management activities.
- Partner with the Sr. Director of Procurement to design and implement system-wide purchasing strategies and processes, establish procurement policies, and ensure organization-wide compliance.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships, partnering with internal teams to deliver both immediate and long-term value to the organization and its clients.
- Proactively engage with internal stakeholders to understand their business needs, manage expectations, and align procurement strategies with operational priorities.
- Lead supplier relationship management efforts, including quarterly business reviews (QBRs), performance tracking, root cause analysis, and the development of joint business plans to drive continuous improvement and mutual success.
- Monitor and analyze evolving market conditions, industry trends, and supplier pricing behaviors to anticipate shifts that may impact sourcing strategies and cost structures.
- Develop and recommend proactive purchasing strategies based on market forecasts, ensuring business continuity, cost optimization, and competitive advantage.
- Leverage market insights to inform supplier negotiations, contract timing, and risk mitigation plans, aligning procurement decisions with broader financial and operational goals.
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
- 5+ years of procurement or sourcing experience across direct and indirect categories such as capital equipment, clinical/non-clinical supplies, and purchased services
- Proven ability to lead end-to-end sourcing processes (RFx, negotiations, supplier selection, and contracting).
- Strong contract management skills with the ability to balance cost savings, risk mitigation, and service quality.
- Experience with spend analysis, cost modeling, benchmarking, and supplier performance management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP/procurement systems
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills across clinical, operations, and corporate teams.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field.
- Prior experience in healthcare procurement or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with clinical supply chain requirements, capital planning, and vendor compliance standards.
- Background in supplier relationship management, including QBRs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience developing and executing category strategies to drive savings and operational efficiencies.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent a plus but not required
