About The Role
As an Assistant Project Manager at Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in supporting multi-family modular construction projects from fabrication through erection and final turnover. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams. It offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the successful and timely delivery of projects by assisting with budgets, schedules, contracts, and stakeholder coordination.
You will work closely with Project Managers, construction teams, logistics, manufacturing, and subcontractors to ensure alignment of project goals and smooth execution. This is an on-site role with regular visits to construction sites.

About The Role

What You’ll Do
- Assists in managing modular construction projects, including tracking budgets, schedules, and scopes of work.
- Supports development and updates of project schedules with input from cross-functional teams.
- Leads smaller project initiatives independently or serves as acting Project Manager for defined phases.
- Coordinates with construction, logistics, design/engineering, manufacturing, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Documents and tracks decisions from project meetings; facilitates OAC meetings as needed.
- Supports development and training of Project Coordinators and Project Engineers.
- Assists in developing and maintaining project budgets, pay applications, subcontracts, and estimates.
- Coordinates subcontractor and vendor performance, procurement, and delivery schedules.
- Ensures compliance with safety standards, government regulations, and project specifications.
- Prepares and delivers progress reports and communications to stakeholders.
- 3–5 years of experience in construction or project support roles (Project Engineer, Project Coordinator), preferably in modular or multi-family projects.
- 1+ years in a role with increased responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Building Science, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with construction management and modular construction methods.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and building codes.
- Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and similar project management tools.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant certifications such as Procore Certification, CAPM, PMP, or OSHA 10 strongly preferred.
- Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
