Summary
We’re seeking a Contract Specialist to join our Dallas-based team. This role is critical to protecting our company’s interests in the construction and heavy manufacturing industry. You’ll take the lead on negotiating contracts, managing risk exposure, and handling back charges, claims, and change orders to ensure projects stay on track and financially sound.

We’re seeking a Contract Specialist to join our Dallas-based team. This role is critical to protecting our company’s interests in the construction and heavy manufacturing industry. You’ll take the lead on negotiating contracts, managing risk exposure, and handling back charges, claims, and change orders to ensure projects stay on track and financially sound.
What You’ll Do
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Identify and mitigate contractual and financial risks before agreements are finalized
- Track, document, and process back charges, claims, and disputes in collaboration with project teams
- Partner with operations and finance to ensure risk management strategies are applied to every contract
- Build and maintain templates, playbooks, and negotiation tools to drive consistency and reduce exposure
- Provide guidance to leadership and project managers on contract compliance and risk mitigation best practices
- 5+ years of contract negotiation/management experience in construction or heavy manufacturing
- Strong understanding of contract risk areas: payment terms, change orders, indemnities, back charges, warranties, and insurance
- Proven ability to assess risks and negotiate terms that protect the business
- Bachelor’s in Business, Legal Studies, Construction Management, or related field (JD or Paralegal background a plus)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a risk-focused mindset
