Compensation Details

Pay Rate: $22.75 p/hr.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Supervisor and the Quality Assurance Manager, the QA Lead has the responsibility of performing clerical duties and special projects. Coordinates, organize, and maintain documentation (paperwork). Assure paperwork documentation has been verified. Maintain data entry into the computer systems and programs per customer requirements. Work with QA team and other department personnel to meet requirements, assignments, and responsibilities. In the case of shortage of QA technician performing production line checks, ensuring GMP’s are being followed, and ensuring the quality of both in process component packaging as well as finished products.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum two years of food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Minimum one year of previous Lead experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure "Safety First" is always practiced, while observing and adhering to all job safety rules.
  • Assist Supervisor to enforce All Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Assist Supervisor with implementation, monitoring and verification of food safety and quality assurance procedures.
  • Assist Supervisor to coordinate FSQA Department scheduling to assure adequate coverage.
  • Oversees line checks being performed by FSQA technicians.
  • Assist Supervisor to Monitor daily operations as assigned to ensure compliance with established procedures, customer specifications and/or Work Order instructions.
  • Assist Supervisor in investigation and resolution of non-conforming goods, out-of-specification processes, in-process failures, etc.
  • Assist Supervisor in performing and/or verify equipment calibration per established procedures and frequencies as directed.
  • Assist Supervisor to Inspect machinery to ensure proper clean-up occurred.
  • Assist Supervisor in completion of allergen and environmental swabs per FSQA procedures.
  • Assist Supervisor in retain sample inventory.
  • Assist Supervisor in Monitor Critical Control Points.
  • Maintain the FSQA office in an organized and professional manner.
  • Ability to receive written and verbal directions.
  • Ability to understand general work processes.
  • Foster a team environment that promotes continuous improvement, communication, and accountability.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Physical Requirements/ Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • The team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Normal vision, hearing sensitivity and manual dexterity is necessary.
