The Bill Jacobs organization has grown into one of the most respected businesses in the Midwest. Today we have five new car franchise locations offering new models from BMW, MINI, Volkswagen, Jaguar, and Land Rover in Naperville and Hinsdale, Illinois. Current Automotive is our pre-owned electric vehicle dealership, located in Hinsdale. At Bill Jacobs, the cars bring you in and the experience brings you back.

What we’re looking for
Minimum 5 years of General Manager experience in a high-volume automotive dealership.
Strong financial acumen and ability to interpret and act on KPIs.
Hands-on leader with a commitment to visibility and accountability.
Proven success in building and retaining high-performance teams.
Experience navigating competitive markets and growing market share.
Ability to maintain manufacturer standards and achieve excellence in all operational areas.

What You’ll Be Driving
Profitability & Operations
- Lead all dealership operations across sales, service, parts, and F&I.
- Deliver strong volume growth while maintaining aggressive gross profit and expense control.
- Own the financial plan—budgeting, forecasting, and data-driven performance management.
- Execute market and competitive analyses to drive strategic positioning.
- Champion a customer-first culture that earns loyalty and top-tier CSI scores.
- Personally engage in customer escalations to protect the brand reputation.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and continuous process improvement.
- Manage inventory strategies to optimize turns, margins, and customer satisfaction.
- Maximize utilization of dealership resources and safeguard assets.
- Inspire, mentor, and hold accountable a high-performance leadership team.
- Attract and retain top talent through coaching, succession planning, and development programs.
- Build an aligned, collaborative culture where achievement and accountability are celebrated.
- Oversee hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Foster interdepartmental collaboration and alignment with store goals.
- Create and sustain a strong team culture with high morale and low turnover.
- Ensure training programs, development plans, and succession pipelines are in place.
