Position Summary
The Child Care Aide is responsible for the care and supervision of children at the First 5 Center while parents and caregivers attend classes or workshops. This role includes engaging children in age-appropriate activities, preparing snacks, greeting families, and maintaining a clean and welcoming childcare space.

This position typically operates in a standard office environment. The noise level is generally quiet and remains within OSHA’s established safety levels at all times.

Key Responsibilities
Child Supervision & Engagement
- Provide attentive care and supervision to children during Center activities.
- Plan, implement, and engage children in age-appropriate activities.
- Prepare and provide snacks when indicated.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming childcare space before and after sessions.
- Greet parents/caregivers at pick-up and drop-off times.
- Assist in planning and implementing Center events as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional child development/early childhood education coursework preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working with children or youth in a similar setting.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred (proficiency in English and Spanish).
- Must meet all state-required conditions of employment as set by Community Care Licensing for a Licensed Community Care facility (fingerprint and child abuse index clearance, TB/health physical, valid driver’s license, clean driving record, proof of auto insurance).
- On-site work at the Center and community location in Antioch, CA.
