Essential Job Functions
- Provide group and individual information, education, and referrals to target population, in accordance with program guidelines and/or as directed by Supervisor.
- Assist in the development and review of a wide range of materials, such as educational curriculum, flyers, and outreach materials to ensure they reach the intended audience
- Assist in recruiting youth for participation in programs
- Create content for social media and other marketing tactics in the community
- Assist in data collection, data entry, evaluation and program reports
- Assist in the planning and execution of youth events, outreach campaigns, and community projects.
- Attend community coalitions and partner meetings, as required or needed
- Provide support to the Youth Development programs by co-facilitating activities and events
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature review, in-service meetings and workshops
- Support the vision, mission and goals, and demonstrate a commitment to the values, of the organization
- Perform other duties as directed
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of two years’ experience in community education
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Valid California driver’s license and vehicle insurance; reliable transportation, to travel for meetings and/or to gather information for reporting purposes; minimum two years’ driving experience; no more than 2 violations or a single ticket/accident value at more than 1 point on driving record
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Current knowledge and understanding of youth culture and trends
- Ability to facilitate groups and maintain classroom management
- Ability to present information accurately and effective both verbally and in writing to individuals and groups
- Ability to create a comfortable, supportive learning environment
- Ability to analyze, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to track and manage time effectively
- Strong organizational, interpersonal relationship and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written skills necessary for communication with patients/clients, clinicians and other staff
- Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional manner, including people of all social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and within the constraints of government funded programs
- Ability to handle confidential materials and information in a professional manner
- Excellent customer service skills and commitment to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction
- Excellent clerical, data collection, report preparation and organizational skills
- Ability and willingness to meet the organization’s attendance and dress code policies
- Experience/familiarity with computers, business e-mail, communication systems and internet search capabilities and proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel
