Job Summary:We are looking for a friendly, welcoming Medical receptionist to join our team! As the Medical receptionist for our busy urgent/primary care facility, you will be the first point of contact for our guests. You will greet customers as they arrive, book appointments, and occasionally answer phone calls, as well as perform clerical tasks as assigned. The ideal candidate has a cheerful disposition, excellent communication, and computer skills, and is capable of multitasking. Willing to work nights and weekends.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Greets visitors and ascertains name and other pertinent information
  • Notifies appropriate employee of visitor's arrival
  • Maintains log of all visitors including name, affiliation, date and time of visit
  • Answers telephone(s)
  • Responds to questions about department operations, as appropriate
  • Routes calls for employees, as appropriate
  • Accurately takes and delivers messages
  • Maintains log of all calls requiring further action
  • Accepts and signs for packages addressed to department
  • Verify insurances, collect and check if patient has balance and input demographics into Practice Fusion software.
  • Write excuses for patients.
  • Open/closing duties including deposits
  • Assures that reception area is clean and orderly
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
  • Performs a variety of routine clerical tasks, which may include processing of incoming and outgoing mail, sending and delivering fax messages.
  • Schedule patients accordingly (See template and monthly provider schedule)
  • File patient documents appropriately (Documents to be scanned, referral requests, etc.)
  • HIPPA Compliant-Will offer training.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent substitute. Skills:

Ability to take initiative and problem solve

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent phone etiquette required

Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills

Ability to present oneself as well as the company in a professional manner

Proficient in the use of a personal computer and corresponding programs

Knowledge of Health X-net software, EHR and Practice Management Software.

Attention to detail

Ability to multi-task
